Standing alongside the Vieux Bassin, Saint Étienne church, Honfleur’s oldest - constructed in the 14th century - is home to the Marine Museum, testimony to the historical past of the port of Honfleur. Its major collection of models illustrates the work done by shipwrights, displaying the ships that used the port in the 18th and 19th centuries for deep-sea fishing and international triangular trade. Engravings, paintings, drawings, plans and portraits testify to the development of the port and to the sailors who built Honfleur’s renown.
